Berlin, Germany, 1926. Poster Promoting Fresh Air

Yiddish poster promoting the benefits of “air, sun, water.” This poster was produced for one of the numerous health education campaigns sponsored by the Berlin OZE (Society for the Protection of the Health of the Jews). It was distributed to Jewish communities in Eastern Europe. Urban life and alienation from nature were thought to be contributing factors in ill health and the spread of disease.
