A group of American Jewish tourists on the deck of the Polish passenger ship SS Kościuszko in Gdynia, Poland.

(Front row, standing, 3rd from right) Gustave Eisner, a U.S. travel agent originally from Lodz, Poland. Eisner specialized in organizing trips to Europe for American Jews that sometimes included travel to Poland to visit their former hometowns. “Decoration Day,” seen on the sign in the picture, is the former name of the American holiday “Memorial Day.”
