Three generations of the Szabad family. Yosef Szabad (seated, center) was a merchant. His wife Pesa was a shopkeeper and daughter of a rabbi in Vilna. One of their sons, Tsemah Szabad (back row, sixth from left), became a prominent doctor, communal leader, and politician.
