Polish-Yiddish election poster urging a vote for Poale Zion, a Zionist party, in communal or local elections in Pinsk, Poland. “For the equality of Jewish language and Jewish schools – fight for list #5.” Poale Zion was at odds with the World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency. It adopted a pro-Soviet position and attacked the mainstream Zionist labor movement in Palestine for its hostility to Yiddish and its opposition to Arab labor.
