Fundraising stamps for a Jewish hospital
Vilna, Poland, Circa 1930s. Stamps
Fundraising stamps for Mishmeres khoylim (Guardian of the Sick), a Jewish hospital in Vilna. There are two different stamps. One shows a poor man receiving medicine from a doctor or pharmacist. The other shows a nurse tending to a patient lying in bed. The Yiddish caption reads: “Mishmeres khoylim gives the poor man a doctor at home, ice, medicine, and clinics for help.”
