The Modern Family Life on Trial
Grodno, Poland, 1931. Poster Advertising an Event
Yiddish/Polish poster advertising an event called “Modern Family Life on Trial,” in the Merchants Hall, in Grodno, Poland, in 1931. The event capitalized on anxiety about the great changes that had taken place in society since the end of World War I. The format was popular: other such events put, for instance, modern Jewish women “on trial.”
