FPO Documents

1940s. Photocopies of documents

Documents from the United Partisan Organization, also known as the FPO. The FPO was a group of resistance fighters that formed in the Vilna Ghetto in January 1942. It brought together scattered members of other youth movements to form a larger collective, organized around the principle of armed underground action. The first image is a forged Aryan passport of a partisan called Isaac Mackiewisz. The second image is the statute of the FPO. The third image is a certificate from the partisan division attesting that David Pintchov was commander of the Jewish division.

Digitization of these artifacts has been made possible by the Edward Blank YIVO Vilna Online Collections project.
