Correspondence with the Danzig-American Hebrew Association
New York, United States, 1939. Correspondence
Correspondence with the Danzig-American Hebrew Association from 1939, where it is mentioned that the members of the Old Age House in Danzig (then Germany, now Gdańsk, Poland) are in danger of “liquidation.” The response acknowledges that the current United States immigration laws make it impossible to help these so-called “unfortunate people,” as the yearly quota has already been filled and they have no friends or relatives in the U.S. who could sign affidavits for them.
