Label for Florida grapefruit and oranges
Florida, United States, no date. Advertisement for Citrus Fruits
This flier advertising citrus fruits from W.G. Roe & Co. was mailed to a Dr. Herman in Syracuse, New York and was aimed at Jewish consumers (the word Florida is reproduced in Yiddish). The 1940s-1960s saw Jews moving away from traditional Jewish enclaves in cities to the suburbs and the western and southern states, especially Florida and California.
